Shibuya Sky tickets: prices, booking & when to go

Admission is timed-entry and prices vary by partner and slot. Sunset sells out first; night is dramatic but you miss daylight detail. Below is how each window feels, how booking works, and where to compare live options.

Official admission bands (adult)

Venue pricing splits by entry time, not by a separate “sunset ticket”. Online purchase is typically ¥300 less than the 14F counter when slots remain.

BandOnline14F counter
Enter by 14:59 (day band)¥2,700¥3,000
Enter from 15:00 (evening band)¥3,400¥3,700
  • Children’s tickets are usually sold at the 14F counter on the day of visit (not online for all ages).
  • Dates open for sale at 00:00 Japan time, 14 days before the visit date (official Webket calendar).
  • Once a slot sells out online, the counter cannot sell adult tickets for that slot.

How booking works

  • Every ticket is tied to a 20-minute entry window — arrive at the 14F gate during that window.
  • There is no time limit inside after you enter; you cannot leave and re-enter.
  • Free cancellation on official web tickets is typically until the day before — partner resellers set their own rules.
  • From 19 Nov 2026, many Klook bookings require each guest’s original passport at the gate (see your voucher).

What each time slot is like

Daytime (roughly 10:00–16:00)

Best for clear sightlines and photos without crowds pressing the glass. On winter mornings you can sometimes see Mount Fuji from the roof — rare, but worth the earlier slot if weather cooperates. Standalone timed-entry tickets work well here because you are not racing sunset.

Sunset / golden hour (17:00–19:00, season-dependent)

The most requested window. You watch the city shift from gold to blue hour in one visit. Book days ahead in peak season; the standalone ticket is fine if you only want the roof, but guided combos that end at the 14F gate can save you navigation stress on a first afternoon.

Night (19:00 and later)

Tokyo as a light map — the Scramble Crossing glows, office towers stack into the distance. Indoor gallery stays open if weather closes the roof. Night-specific guided walks pair well if you want context before you go up.

Booking & practical answers

How do I book Shibuya Sky tickets?

Choose a timed-entry slot on Klook, GetYourGuide or Viator, pay online, and receive a mobile QR code. You select the date and entry window at checkout — not at the gate.

Admission is timed-entry. Prices and availability are set by booking partners — confirm on Klook, GetYourGuide or Viator before you pay. For visits on or after 19 Nov 2026, Klook requires original passports for all guests at Sky entry (see Klook activity notes).

Can I buy Shibuya Sky tickets on the same day?

Occasionally, but popular sunset and weekend slots often sell out days ahead. If your visit is fixed, book in advance rather than assuming walk-up availability.

What happens if it rains?

The open-air rooftop closes in rain, high wind or lightning. The indoor Sky Gallery remains open; tickets stay valid but are not automatically refunded.

Where is the entrance?

The ticket gate is on 14F of Shibuya Scramble Square. From Shibuya Station, follow signs to Shibuya Scramble Square. The dedicated SHIBUYA SKY lift at the 1F Hikarie-side entrance runs to the 14F ticket gate — not the Sky Lobby in Shibuya Hikarie. Allow 10–15 minutes from the platform.

How early should I arrive?

Arrive 10–15 minutes before your timed slot. Security and bag storage at the 14F entrance can add a short queue at peak hours.

Bags must be stored in free lockers at the 14F entrance before the rooftop. Large luggage is not allowed on the open deck.
